Our 2018 ANZAC Remembrance Ball was a great success & enjoyed by all.
Servicemen and women both past and present were solemnly remembered in a tribute delivered by former Treasurer, Ed Evans who served in the air force, which was followed by a one minute silence to honour those who have fallen.
The program includes the Remembrance Rumba, Remembrance Waltz and the Anzac Centenary Foxtrot, choreographed in 2015 by Brisbane dance professionals John Batterham and Loreen Di Sipio Batterham.
Congratulations to Nick & Reena of Ipswich on WINNING the amazing ANZAC Commemorative Firepit, courtesy of Kennedy Welding, Coorparoo.
$2 raffle tickets were available prior to the ANZAC Ball from Alan & Lynelle at Cornwall St, Buranda, Bob & Maureen at Carina & Eventide, including Trish’s dance at Woody Point & Delma & Graham’s Burnie Brae dances via Lorraine & Ivan.
A huge THANK-YOU goes to Liam Bland at Kennedy Welding, for manufacturing & generously donating the ANZAC Commemorative Firepit. Our club was proud to donate all money raised from ticket sales to Legacy & Soldier On Australia, we also sold a number of RSL badges that commemorated the various campaigns our defence forces fought in Europe. Anzac Remembrance Centenary Ball DVD April 2015
Lest We Forget!
Our 2015 Anzac Remembrance Centenary Ball was held on Sunday the 26th April 2015.
The ball started at 6pm, followed at 7pm with our remembrance service that concluded with a minutes silence, and screening of “The Spirit of the Anzacs” music video.
After a delightful meal enjoyed by all, the raffle tickets were drawn and the Anzac Centenary Foxtrot was presented by the dance choreographers, John Batterham and Loreen DiSipio Batterham, accompanied by our teachers Alan and Lynelle Armitage.
This was a rare opportunity to see the choreographers demonstrating exactly how they envisaged their dance to be performed. Anzac Centenary foxtrot has been a very good addition to our repertoire, as it is the only dance we do which features a Tumble Turn.
