Our annual ANZAC Remembrance Ball was held on Sunday the 23rd of April at 6pm with more than 83 in attendance.
Servicemen and women both past and present were remembered in a tribute delivered by our Treasurer, who served in the air force, this was followed by a one minute silence to honour those who have fallen.
The program included the Rememberance Rumba, Remembrance Waltz and the Anzac Centenary Foxtrot which was choreographed in 2015 by Brisbane dance professionals John Batterham and Loreen Di Sipio Batterham.
Lest We Forget!
Our 2015 Anzac Remembrance Centenary Ball was held on Sunday the 26th April 2015.
The ball started at 6pm, followed at 7pm with our remembrance service that concluded with a minutes silence, and screening of “The Spirit of the Anzacs” music video.
After a delightful meal enjoyed by all, the raffle tickets were drawn and the Anzac Centenary Foxtrot was presented by the dance choreographers, John Batterham and Loreen DiSipio Batterham, accompanied by our teachers Alan and Lynelle Armitage.
This was a rare opportunity to see the choreographers demonstrating exactly how they envisaged their dance to be performed. Anzac Centenary foxtrot has been a very good addition to our repertoire, as it is the only dance we do which features a Tumble Turn.
